Kaden Cross for PSUSD Trustee Area Five
Why me?
I am the sole candidate in this race who has attended and graduated from PSUSD schools. I understand intimately the issues local students and parents face on a daily basis.
I am one of the few candidates running a grassroots, self-funded nonpartisan campaign, free from the influence of local political parties and committees. My allegiance lies solely with our community and our schools.
We need someone who is driven and willing to work with students, teachers, parents, and staff to address the issues they daily.
If elected I will do no less than continually visiting all twenty-eight schools in the district and making myself continually available to the community.
Why is the school board important?
The PSUSD Board of Education is a panel of elected officials who oversee the district’s performance and make decisions about curriculum and school policies, appoint school officials, and oversee school administrators. Board Members can have a significant impact on the way our schools are run and your children’s education. Effective board members should be receptive and community oriented when making these decisions.
School board meetings do not receive nearly enough attention from the public given their outsized impact. One of the goals of my campaign is to get our community more involved with this process. The district has seen federal funding cut while feeling the burden of inflation.
About Trustee Area Five
Trustee Area Five primarily consists of central and northern Desert Hot Springs as outlined. Only those within the district can vote for this seat.
Those outside the district can still have an invaluable impact by spreading the word.
“The most dangerous phrase in the language is, ‘We’ve always done it this way.’”
